For nearly 20 years, Coach Abraham and Coach Summer have been coaching side by side - from Overland High School in Colorado, to local parks and recreational teams, to their friends’ children’s soccer teams. It was through these experiences that they decided to establish Arsenal Vancouver Academy in 2019, which successfully continues to run as a separate entity.

In 2023 they were approached with an opportunity to establish the Vancouver Lightning Youth Soccer Club. Coach Abraham and Coach Summer’s goal for the club is to give every player a welcoming place to learn, grow, and love the game.

Soccer has always been their passion, not just for the competition, but for the way it builds confidence, connection, and character in players, and for the way it builds a community. Together, they are committed to shaping great players through the sport they love.

Leading our program is Coach Abraham, who brings over two decades of experience as both a player and coach. He was recruited right out of college to play professionally in Germany. He’s known for his adaptive, energetic coaching style that meets players where they are and helps them develop technically, tactically, physically, and emotionally. Today he continues to fullfill his passion for the sport along with his wife Coach Summer Selim.
